Aspartame is an artificial sweetener used as a sugar substitute in foods and beverages without adding excess calories. People often consume products with aspartame in an effort to maintain or lose weight.

The reason for aspartame poisoning is that it dissolves into solution, travels throughout the body and deposits within tissues. Unlike saccharin, the body digests aspartame. The digestive and absorption process results in aspartame accumulating in our bodies resulting in health problems. The effects of aspartame are far reaching and negatively impact many organ systems and structures, causing a diminished level of functioning and enjoyment of life.

Metabolism and hormones are the cornerstone of our body's production of energy and ability to regulate itself.

We produce a variety of hormones that regulate our overall health and wellness. Diabetes control and increased weight are side effects of aspartame use. Others report hair loss, menstrual irregularity and severe premenstrual syndrome. Some may note marked weight loss and problems with low blood sugar.

The nervous system is a very delicate machine and very sensitive to minor amounts of toxins. Aspartame negatively impacts brain function and can trigger or mimic many serious disease processes. Aspartame can cause or trigger the following neurologic conditions: memory loss, confusion, migraine, dizziness and unsteadiness, seizures, sever speech slurring, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Serious psychiatric problems are known to occur due to aspartame and include aggressive or suicidal behaviors, severe depression, birth defects and severe cognitive problems in the baby, anxiety, insomnia, phobias and irritability.

The health dangers of aspartame are widespread and can affect multiple body systems. Additional health dangers include: persistent craving for sweets, aspartame addiction, irreversible brain injury and cognitive impairment, stomach ulcers, birth defects, hyperactive behavior in children, aggression, severe depression and suicide attempt and ultimately death.

Scientists and anecdotal patient reports continue to show the global negative effects on the human body. Aspartame poisoning triggers many subtle diseases. Even under the best conditions and in the hands of the skilled physicians, these conditions are difficult to detect.

Diseases such as ALS, multiple sclerosis, Lupus, post-polio syndrome and Lyme disease can all be triggered by aspartame. Other problems such as Meniere's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, thyroid disorders and Alzheimer's disease can all result from aspartame. What we eat in our diet has a direct role in the development of many health conditions.

In most cases, aspartame poisoning resolves if the individual simply stops using sweetener-containing products. Cut out products like low calorie pudding, diet sodas, and gelatin mixes, and any powdered drink mix containing aspartame. Even some dried fruits and cereals contain aspartame.

Reading food labels and avoiding aspartame can literally be a life changing activity. Detoxifying your body from the ill effects of aspartame is a powerful method to reverse any symptom related to using this artificial sweetener. Over 92 different signs and symptoms are attributed to aspartame. The detoxification program is the most effective way to remove the toxins produced from aspartame such as phenylalanine, aspartic acid and methanol and their damaging by-products.

This 9 step program is easy to implement and will improve symptoms in 30 days. Suffering from diarrhea can take a toll on the body. Aspartame Poisoning: Signs, Dangers and Treatments Aspartame poisoning can be serious and life threatening. Detoxifying aspartame is the best way to rid your body of this dangerous chemical. The European population of million consumes about tonnes annually of aspartame NutraSweet, Canderel an artificial sweetener, which contains two amino acids—aspartic acid and phenylalanine.

Was the world screaming for all this sweetness, and what has it done to us? Anyone searching the web on aspartame, launched in by Monsanto, the manufacturer of NutraSweet, will find a vast catalogue of frightening personal accounts attributing multiple health disasters to exposure to aspartame. In contrast, aspartame marketing implies that it embodies a healthy way of life and avoids obesity.

Are these claims of hazards and benefits supported by evidence? Evidence does not support links between aspartame and cancer, hair loss, depression, dementia, behavioural disturbances, or any of the other conditions appearing in websites. Agencies such as the Food Standards Agency, European Food Standards Authority, and the Food and Drug Administration have a duty to monitor relations between foodstuffs and health and to commission research when reasonable doubt emerges. Aspartame's safety was convincing to the European Scientific Committee on Food in2 but proving negatives is difficult, and it is even harder to persuade vocal sectors of the public whose opinions are fuelled more by anecdote than by evidence.

The Food Standards Agency takes public concerns very seriously and thus pressed the European Scientific Committee on Food to conduct a further review, encompassing over reports, in Does aspartame embody a healthy way of life and avoid obesity? If this were entirely replaced by a non-nutritive, non-caloric sweetener such as aspartame then obesity could indeed be vanquished—assuming these calories are not replaced due to stimulation of appetite.

We eat about 5 g aspartame annually, equivalent to another kg of sucrose, whose kcal 16 kJ could generate 0. Its fructose component is responsible for this hazard. Artificial sweeteners are promoted to prevent dental caries, as sugars form the main substrate for mouth bacteria. However, avoiding sugar does not reduce dental caries dramatically in regions with high levels of caries. If children consume sweetened drinks between meals or suck on sweet foods, resulting in prolonged periods of exposure to sugar, then replacing the sugar with artificial sweeteners in such products has some rationale.

Why has aspartame been demonised by the world's press and countless websites? Monsanto was in the public eye, accused of enthusiastic dissemination of genetically modified plants and foods. People resent interference with foods, and synthetic food components are regarded with suspicion.

However, aspartame comprises just two amino acids aspartic acid and phenylalanine. Could this present a risk? Phenylalanine is a natural amino acid, and is toxic only in patients who have phenylketonuria. Food labelling of sweetener is contentious. Six artificial sweeteners are permitted in Europe, each with an acceptable daily intake. Consumers cannot be expected to calculate cumulative daily intakes of each.

I feel that the quality of my hair has changed - it has become a bit 'fluffy', flyaway and seems thinner. It doesn't seem to be shedding more than usual so I am wondering whether there may be an issue with regrowth.

I'm wanting to know from those of you taking SR UK and also SC if you have experienced anything similar and, if so, if it has only been temporary. I noticed the 'difference' in my hair before I even considered that strontium may be involved so this is not hindsight.

I googled aspartame and the list of possible side effects is horrendous and includes hair loss!. I am wondering about abandoning this licenced med and trying Strontium Citrate -so avoiding aspartame but do the cautions re hair loss apply. I would welcome any thoughts and experiences. My hairs been going thin for quite a few years certainly before I started taking taking SR.

My Mum also had poor hair, so I assume mine is due to genes and my age. If you decide to stop the SR for a while, please let us know if it makes a difference. I've had it cut short since the photo was taken, so hopefully it looks a bit better now.

LynH and Hammers Thanks for your feedback - I had been considering stopping taking SR for a period of time and seeing if I notice any difference with my hair. All the best Carol. I was taking thyroid med Thyroixine for low thyroid production along with my fosamex and calcium.

I noticed quite a lot of hair loss. I asked the Doc to change my prescription. He gave me the real med for Thyroxine not a copy. I have been cautious not to take it everyday. It seems I still have some loss of hair. I was thinking of trying the Synthroid next, but seemed to have negative comments on that on another site.

It can also be found as a flavoring in some medicines. Rumors and concerns about aspartame causing a number of health problems, including cancer, have been around for many years. Some of the concerns about cancer stem from the results of studies in rats published by a group of Italian researchers, which suggested aspartame might increase the risk of some blood-related cancers leukemias and lymphomas.

However, later reviews of the data from these studies have called these results into question. The results of epidemiologic studies studies of groups of people of possible links between aspartame and cancer including blood-related cancers have not been consistent. In general, the American Cancer Society does not determine if something causes cancer that is, if it is a carcinogenbut we do look to other respected organizations for help with this.

Based on current research, some of these organizations have made the following determinations:. Though research into a possible link between aspartame and cancer continues, these agencies agree that studies done so far have not found such a link. These products must be tested for safety and approved by the FDA before they can be used. The FDA also sets an acceptable daily intake ADI for each sweetener, which is the maximum amount considered safe to consume each day during a person's lifetime.

But in reality, aspartame is used at lower levels, and amounts found in soft drinks can be 3 to 6 times less than the maximum permitted levels. This means you would have to drink 36 cans or more to reach the ADI. This is a rare genetic disorder present at birth in which the body can't break down phenylalanine, an amino acid found in many foods and in aspartame. For other people who want to avoid aspartame, the easiest way to do this is to look for this same warning, or to check the ingredient labels before buying or eating foods or drinks.

If aspartame is in the product it will be listed. There are over 92 different health side effects associated with aspartame consumption. It seems surreal, but true. Hair growth, no aspartame or sucralose! Sharon81 Guest.

Strontium ranelate aspartame, hair loss? ! - Osteoporosis

Hello all, it's been a long time since I posted due to bad health, depression and the death of my dear brother, last september. I want everyone who has hair loss to seriously consider cutting out, completely, aspartame and sucralose from their diets, and here's why: In it became clear my hair was thinning.

Around I was suffering from senitivity to sunlight. My eyes couldn't handle sun. After a bit of research I cut Aspartame out of my diet I drank a lot of diet drinks containing this substance which is a chemical sweetener. I found a diet drink that had sucralose instead and happily guzzled about 2 litre bottles of the stuff per week. I began to have a lot of pain walking, which was unusual as I've always prided myself on the distances I could walk! The pain didn't come on suddenly, all at once, no, it was an insidious slow process, but by Dec I quit my job because walking there was too difficult, and I was also incredibly depressed about that and my ever worsening hair loss.

I've posted on here from a while back, and the first photo I've attached here is a pic of my hair in Feb By about july It had worsened, my hair line receded more. At around the same time I decided to try the Atkins diet, and sucralose is recommended for that, so I bought powdered sucralose and used it instead of sugar on food.

I was also consuming lozenges which contained it, to try and distract me from smoking. What a mess I was!! In Nov I bought my Jessica Simpson topper. Before that I relied on Dermatch for about 9 months, until my hair loss was too extreme for dermatch to cover, hence the purchase of the J Simp topper, which did a lot to make me feel better about myself.

The week my brother died, in a terrible accident, I lost a ton of hair.

Aspartame Poisoning: Signs, Dangers and Treatments

That mildness didn't reflect the agony I was in. I felt like I was 90 years old and I've just turned I thought I'd be in a wheelchair before long.

I was in a terrible state, and my hair loss had progressed to worse than the firts pic posted below taken Feb It was almost at the point I had nothing of a hairline to clip my topper to, and I began to wonder what my next step would be. Because of the pain in my legs I once again began to read up on sucralose, and there are many cases of severe leg pains reported by people who used it.

aspartame hair loss reddit

Also, people have reported hair loss. On March 22 I poured all my diet drinks containing sucralose down the sink. I threw all my lozenges in the bin and I have religiously read every label to make sure no aspartame or sucralose passed my lips. Beware anything that's described as "Sugar free" as it most likely contains one or the other of these sweeteners.

Well, within 3 days of stopping the stuff, my legs felt a lot better, I couldn't believe the difference. It's now been 3 months since I stopped using the stuff and I can walk quite long distances, with only mild hip pain. Before that, my legs felt lie ton weights, every step was an effort.

Since I got my Jess simp fringe I've got in the habit of brushing my hair and putting it on before I would look in the mirror, but 4 days ago I took a look at my hair, and to my great surprise the once thin, feeble and weak hairs seem to be growing back as stron normal hairs!! Over the last 4 days since I realised this, I reckon I've checked them in the mirror a times, such is my excitement!! I reckon the second set of pics below, where you can see strong hairs growing at the hairline, show what is approx 3 months growth, coinciding with completely removing sucralose from my diet.

I know my legs have improved vastly since I quit this stuff I seriously consider it to be poison.Menu Forums Forums Quick Links. Members Quick Links. HairLossTalk Forums. In a previous topic by traxdata I found out that aspartame may cause hair loss. I CUT right now diet coke and all the other diet products, and I hope the symptoms to be reversible. This might be a side cause for my hair loss. Cornholio Established Member. The Gardener Senior Member. Guest Guest. Dude, why were you drinking 1. That's just ridiculously unhealthy I did a paper on aspartame back in college too.

The amounts of methanol in aspartame nutra sweet are too miniscule to cause problems in the body. You would really have to drink a real shitload of it all at once to have it cause any noticeable effect on you. Some people have a natural aversion or incompatibility with amounts of this amino in their bloodstream if unlinked to others.

This is a condition called 'phenylalikeurotic' or something like that, and people who have it can get rather violently ill if they ingest aspartame in quantity. Another aspartame fact So, don't store it in, say, a warm garage in quantity. A relatively short period of exposure can ruin your soda, and you can tell when you drink it because the soda won't taste very sweet anymore, and it will greatly reduce the level of carbonation and the soda will seem 'flat'.
